Point to Keep in Mind

1. First of all, careful daily maintenance is very important to ensure normal operation of equipment. However, daily maintenance is usually ignored thus tiny issues would accumulate leading to great problems. Therefore, the clinical users should keep the below in mind: keeping the equipment surface clean; checking the voltage and power before using; paying attention to the equipment function and doing records.

2. Second, be careful when doing maintenance. When the malfunction occurs, collect information, including model and manufacturing number of the equipment, time and abnormal sounds when the malfunction occurs, if there's sudden blackout or equipment movement before malfunction and etc., before maintenance. Pay attention to the order when disassembling the equipment. Do not take off the components with brute strength and put away tiny things like screws according to classfication. After replacing the broken components, assemble all the components in reverse order.

    Maintenance done, clean the equipment surface before connecting it to power and then calibrate it. Finally, check that if the equipment function properly to avoid hidden danger. Clear the maintenance site, making sure that there's no tool missed, and keep the record in the maintenance log.

    When doing maintenance, the engineer should always keep safety in mind, avoiding uncessary harm like leakeage.

3. Third, maintain and inspect periodically and identify and solve the problem as soon as possible.

     Detailed preventive maintenance items should include:

     The superficial check should cover: 1. if the button, switch and plug loose or mismatched; 2. if the plug contact oxidized, rusted or with poor contact; 3. if the wire aged; 4. if the heat disspation part working normally; 5. if there's good connection to ground wires and tubes.

     The clean maintenance should cover: 1. the equipment surface and internal electric parts; 2. mechanical parts like sieve and tubes; 3. cleaning the plug and socket of the equipment to prevent poor contact; 4. lubricating those mechanical parts necessary.

      Replacing vulnerable components: 1. substituting timely the units which reach its life span and have perfomance reduction, and the components needed periodic replacement as required in the operating manual; 2. preventing potential expansion of malfunction which might cause the breakdown of the equipment; 3. related personnel being reminded to charge periodically; 4. eliminating various explicit and potential malfunction of equipment.

      Performance test calibration: 1. testing the stabilized voltage of all DC - point voltage and waveform tested in the circuit - and conducting necessary calibration and adjustment specified in the operating manual to make sure that each technical indicator of the equipment hit the standard, and of the performance of it during the medical diagnosis and treatment.

4. Safety check:

    1. Checking that if the frame is stable, if the equipment runs normally, and if the connection parts are loose, falling off and broken.

    2. Checking that if the leads, plugs, connectors and etc. are broken, if the ground wire is firmly connected, and if the ground resistance and leakage are within the allowable.
